Our Stock #2100 Rope Control / Stopping Handles are specially designed Extruded . . . Aircraft Aluminum Handled Ascenders.

The Handle is attached to the free-side rope . . . and the System *99* operator . . . and is used as a rope-grip for lifting the load suspended within the *99* System . . . and as a ‘Tie-Off’ handle . . .  for holding the load stationary.

The Handle also provides the safety feature of not allowing accidental descent of the load in case the free-side rope should be inadvertently released.

The Rope Control / Stopping Handle has a spring loaded “Rope-Release-Cam-Lever” . . . featuring rounded protruding teeth which provide a positive grip on the free-side rope. Manual opening of the rope release cam lever allows the rope to pass through the rope travel guide housing slot groove. Once the rope release cam lever is released the handle grabs the free-side rope and prevents additional descent.

*WARNING*      *WARNING*

Our Handles are designed so they can NØT be locked open. This is *Critical* if you should happen to end up with less than *completely* trained operators . . . a *locked-open* handle = the strong possibility that the handle could come off the rope. NOT GOOD! Even-though (with our 90% brake) it is quite easy to just grab the free-side rope to halt descent, we believe in a belt and suspenders in situations like this.

The handle securing rope / or lanyard, [as pictured above], is attached to the handle on one end, and the System operator's belt . . . harness . . . or bosun’s chair on the other end . . . via karabiner snap hooks . . . or screw links.

Length is approx. four feet, and we always make them up in a contrasting color to your system's rope color -  for quick identification.
